The Meaning Behind Torrida

Torrida Digital did not come from a branding workshop. It came from my dad.

My last name is Tortorice, and people have been mispronouncing it, shortening it, and turning it into new versions of itself for as long as I can remember. Somewhere along the line, Torrida showed up. It was close enough to feel familiar and different enough to have some personality.

My dad thought it was great. He was cool like that. Funny, sharp, a little weird in the best way. The kind of guy who could say something that made you laugh even when you were trying not to. He was good. Not perfect, just human, with a shine that was easy to pick up on if you spent more than five minutes around him.

When I started this agency, that name came back to me. Not as a big dramatic tribute, but as a natural fit. It carried the same mix of humor, grit, curiosity, and heart that he had. The kind of energy that says you can be serious about the work without taking yourself too seriously.

So Torrida stuck.
It is a nod to where I come from and the kind of presence I want this company to have in the world. Real people. Real work. A little spark in everything we build.

If there is any shine here, he started it. I am just carrying it forward.
